Ebdon needed just one frame from the additional session and did enough in a scrappy 17th frame.
Earlier in the match, Derbyshire's Bond had a 5-4 advantage having been 4-0 behind at one stage.
Ebdon made two breaks of 60 and Bond made his own 60 to level at 6-6, before the 2002 champion grabbed four of the next five for a hard-earned victory.
Peter Ebdon said his win owed much to his opponent's bad luck.
