Luke McEvoy climbs five places in the Willie Thorne Under 17’s after beating Tom Kerslake 3-1 in the 10th event to win his 2nd title in the year’s series.
The Halifax youngster now 3rd who won at Leicester in May won the first frame easily (59-6).
Kerslake look set to take the second frame leading by 38 but McEvoy fought back to snatch a 2-0 lead (55-40) however the Derby player won the 3rd frame by a mile
(1-78).
After a long bout of great safety play on the brown and blue by both players McEvoy eventually sunk the pink for victory.
In the groups Kerslake won all his 3 matches comfortably with breaks of 42 and 63, McEvoy won his group on frame difference after losing 3-2 to Ashik Nathwani who did not qualify.
Next event Saturday August 2nd , 11am, £10 entry.
Due entry numbers declining this year for the Grand Finals in December only the top 16 will be invited to attend the stipulation of playing in 8 events has been removed.
Please not the event due to be played on Saturday September 20th is cancelled owing to the club staging the EASB Premier Junior Tour.
The Sunday Handicap the following day has been moved to the 28th September.
