Both semi finals went against predictions Joe Jogia thrashed event favourite Ricky Walden 5-0 hardly letting the top 16 bound player have a clear cut chance the home club player making breaks of 80,70,69 and finally a clinical 60 clearance in the 5th frame.
Robert Milkins overcame Judd Trump 5-4 in an entertaining match Trump made breaks of 68 and 67 to lead 2-1 Milkins came back to lead 3-2 and 4-3 with a 72 break.

McEVOY NOW 3RD WITH 2ND TITLE Luke McEvoy climbs five places in the Willie Thorne Under 17’s after beating Tom Kerslake 3-1 in the 10th event to win his 2nd title in the year’s series. The Halifax youngster now 3rd who won at Leicester in May won the first frame easily (59-6).

Liam Highfield won the 8th Event of the series from 16 players defeating Darren Burns 3-2 in the final overall 79 players have competed so far during the year. James Jelley won the 1st event of the move beating Ashik Nathwani 4-1 in the final from just 3 entrants. The Handicap is still the top event at Leicester 30 players took part this month Rob Berryman +35 won his first title beating Dipesh Patel +42 2-0 in the final.

WILLIE THORNE’S - SUNDAY HANDICAP GODRICH WITH THE FLU WINS APRIL EVENT Despite suffering from the flu local Andy Godrich in his 86th Sunday Handicap since 1998 won April’s event, Willie Thorne Snooker defeating Ben Weir, 16, Newark 2-0 in the final from 37 players. Godrich has now reached the Main Event final on four occasions won his first two matches 2-1 the 2nd against pro Joe Jogia who missed out on a maximum with a 104 break.

WILLIE THORNE’S CHRISTMAS HANDICAP 2007
The host club’s James Jelley(+35) defeated PIOS club mate Andy Lee(-21) 2-1 to win the Christmas Handicap from 48 players, Willie Thorne Snooker, Leicester.
The winner opened with two 2-0 wins winning his last three matches 2-1 former English Open finalist Lee despite conceding big starts all day 35,49,49 won his first four matches 2-0 which included a win over Tom Ford.
