Trump, from Bristol, lost the opening frame but then reeled off five in a row, including two century breaks.

World number nine Maguire pulled back two consecutive frames, but Trump ended the match in style with a break of 120.

He will face Australia's Neil Robertson in the last four after the 2010 world champion beat China's Ding Junhui 6-2.

The players were level at 2-2 at the mid-session interval before left-hander Robertson won the next four frames in succession.

Trump, who won the final two frames to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan in round two, produced a high-quality display and revealed how confident he is feeling about his form.

Trump told BBC Sport: "I have still got a lot to improve on and I am giving away far too many chances, but I am potting well.

"When I am out there now I just feel so confident in front of the cameras, whereas last year I didn't want to be there.

"I am probably practising less than I have done in my whole career and playing some of my best snooker. I have just tried to enjoy it this season, go out there and have fun, and when I am off the table, forget about it.

"I just feel at home out there now and I want to be in the latter stages of the tournament when it is down to one table and all eyes are on me."

Robertson told BBC Sport: "I felt so confident. I was just convinced I was going to win. I was hitting balls so well in practice, I felt absolutely fantastic out there.

"Judd looks like hee was playing really well too so we are in for a huge encounter."
