Stephen Hendry, narrowly avoided becoming the first player to squander a 5-0 Masters lead as he scraped past Matthew Stevens 6-5.
Hendry was 5-0 up before the Welshman won five on the spin, taking the match to a decider, which the Scot won.
Hendry admitted his win over Stevens had been a nerve-wracking experience.
"From 5-0 to 5-5 I had precious little to play at as Matthew played so well," he said.
"He turned into a different player at 5-0. I couldn't get to the table, it's as simple as that."
