Ebdons agony after 147 blunder

Peter EbdonPeter Ebdon was furious with himself after a bad error cost him a maximum break in his 4-2 win over Mark Selby at the Royal London Watches Grand Prix.
The 2002 world champion missed an easy final pink and said: "I missed it by a mile, it was an unforgivable miss.

"I haven't made a 147 for 15 years, and I've always wanted to make one on TV.

"I'm gutted to be honest. I'll have a few sleepless nights about that. I couldn't have missed that more if I'd deliberately tried to miss it."

If Ebdon had potted the pink and the black, he would have matched Tom Ford's maximum on Sunday and shared the £20,000 prize money for the 147, as well as an additional £4,000 for the highest break prize.

His win booked him a place in the last 16 and eliminated Selby, who was runner-up in the World Championship earlier this year.
