Former winners Exeter will face last seasons runners up West Midlanders in the English Team final at the EASB finals weekend May 22/23rd after qualifying at Northern SC, Leeds.

 

Four teams failed to attend leaving just four teams to play in a round robin format.

 

Exeter who topped the group featured the former England captain Michael Gold undefeated at three successive Home Internationals.

 

They beat fellow finalists West Midlanders 5-2 in the final match Gold winning both his frames plus Mike King with two victory’s.

 

Rob James made the highest break 112 in the deciding frame over local rivals Birmingham to clinch 2nd place.

 

Exeter lost 5-4 to Saffron Walden who led 3-1, R,Huxter beating Gold in the decider.
