Alfie Burden, Hattfield produced a tremendous sustained performance to win the 6th and final Pro Ticket Tour event, Woking SC Ben Woollaston, Leicester 5-4 in the final.

The former Main Tour player twenty breaks over fifty during the week end which included seven century’s topped by a 147 in the last frame to defeat Wayne
Townsend 4-2.

Jimmy Robertson will top the rankings as he has reached the English Amateur final as has David Craggs before the EASB finals take place this weekend Robertson has 1258 points, 2nd Stuart Carrington 1142, 3rd Pontins Open winner Sean Bullock 983, 4th Burden 779, 5th Craggs 636, Main Tour bound Woollaston 6th on 613, 7th Robbie Williams 613 and 8th James McGouran 592 from just two events and the Eng Am.

212 players are on the ranking list that comprises the six PTT events and the English Amateur that features over 70 extra players not on the tour.

These players except Robertson and Woollaston will form the basis of England’s Home International team in September with possible invites to Sam Baird and Michael Wild.

Burden opened the final still on fire with a 118 break adding the 2nd frame with a 52, Woollaston won the next two scrappy frames, Burden fired again with 116 and 51 again Woollaston drew level a 76 break for 4-3 winning the 8th easily, Burden won the decider 67-16.

The winner exploded from the blocks crushing Grant Conquest 4-0 with breaks of 71,100 and 118, Michael Wild 4-1, 44,68,84,96 breaks then Townsend 4-2, 50,73, 78 and the maximum his first in a tournament over 60 in practise, ex pro Hugh Abernathy 4-2, 96,69,59,52.

In the semi finals he fought back from 3-1 down to beat Robbie Williams 4-3, Burden started with a 115 break, Williams 95 and 51 for 3-1 despite Burden making 59 in the 4th frame both the next two frames close 73-61,70-51 the last won well 98-4.

Woollaston who has won back his Main Tour spot through PIOS after reaching the final of the last event losing 6-5 to club mate Joe Jogia defeated Scott Miller 4-1, 87 break, Chris Norbury 4-1, Gary Wilson 4-2, Lee Postill 4-2, 82 twice, Matt Wilson
4-0, 52 and Stuart Carrington 4-2, 56, Carrington 69 in the 5th for 3-2.

The home clubs Sean Bullock started well beating Greg Batten 4-3 from 2-0 down with efforts of 55,84,131, Mark Sutton 4-2 runs of 84 and 90 then lost 4-2 to Ian Glover after leading 2-0, Glover 100 and 129.

In three earlier rounds Stuart Carrington made breaks of 69,86,97,104,53,66 and 76 and quarter finalist Matt Wilson 74,110,72.63,60 and 53.

The next eligible 32 players in the Pro Ticket Rankings will play for EASB’s final nomination place on May 30th – 31st, Northern SC, Leeds.
