Frame scores Carrington first :

The 1st frame took 39 minutes too complete with Carrington securing the opener with a break of 24 at the end.
From behind Highfield made a break of 49 to the blue too take the 2nd and took the lead with a break of 41 after Carrington who finished 2nd in the pro ticket rankings uncharacteristically missed the black off the spot which happened often during the match.
Despite another missed black Carrington responded with a break of 76 for 2-2 after a re rack Highfield with two 22’s took the lead again adding the 6th frame with a 96 break all blacks.
Highfield did make a 147 at Leicester in this seasons first Premier Junior Tour event.
In the 7th and final frame of the session Carrington got away with two misses to finish with a break of 51 to trail 3-4.
At the restart Carrington conceded 28 points in fouls Highfield extending his lead with a run of 35 at the end of the frame from another miss Highfield went 3-6 up with a break of 68.
Highfield easily won the final two frames Carrington again guilty of easy misses breaks of just 35 and 28 sufficient for Highfield to claim his first individual national title.
