Ben Harrison and Adam Duffy will contest the English Under 19 final at the EASB Finals Weekend sponsored by South Yorkshire Tourism next week at the World Snooker Academy, English Institute of Sport, Sheffield.
Harrison who won the English Southern Regional Junior Tour this season came back from 3-1 to the home club’s Gene Lam at the event sponsors venue Northern Snooker, Leeds finishing in style the last 16 match with breaks of 62 and 49 to win 4-3.
He then defeated Callum Waite 4-2 and finally Alan Moore 5-3 in the semi final, Moore won the first frame with a 58, Harrison then led 3-1 with a run of 62 in the 4th frame, Harrison won the 7th frame on the black and the 8th close again 68-45.
Moore with runs of 49 and 58 had beaten PIOS 8 event winner Liam Highfield 4-1 in the quarter finals.
Duffy recently awarded the Paul Hunter Scholarship by World Snooker at the Academy comfortably won his first two matches 4-0 over Gareth Green breaks of 82 and 80 then 4-1, Duffy 68 against Darrell Whitworth who had beaten the holder John Astley 4-3 in the first round.
In the semi finals he edged European Under 19 Champion Stephen Craigie 5-4, Craigie led 2-0 with efforts of 56 and 48, Duffy led 3-2 a 60 break for 2-2, Craigie again hit the front 4-3 breaks of 51 and 75, Duffy responded with breaks of 72 and 48 to win the last two frames easily.
