Stephen Craigie, Newcastle racked up his 6th successive triumph in the English Premier Junior Tour to end the season unbeaten winning the final event at North East Derbyshire SC, Clay Cross beating Nick Jennings, Winchester on the black.

Jennings won the first frame of the final with a run of 71, Craigie led 2-1, 67 break and despite a break of 54 lost the 6th frame, Craigie cleared the last five colours after Jennings missed match ball green.

The winner arrived late from the Pontins festival the previous day where he lost in the final 5-2 to Nigel Bond docked two frames against Billy Castle, Craigie lost no time catching up with group breaks 64,96,74,51,86, 54 and 106 in his four games.

Obviously unbeaten in the last 16 all season Craigie defeated Nick Charalambous 4-2 who won the first frame with a 87 break, Sam Harvey 4-1, Criagie 53 clearance to lead, Harvey 60 in the 2nd frame and finally Riley’s Champion Joel Walker 4-2,

66 and 82, Craigie 68 and 59.

Walker who could only finish 2nd in his group behind Ryan Clark a semi finalist for the first time beat Shahrukh Nasir 4-2, 81 and 53 then Sam Craigie 4-1, Craigie 61 and 68, Walker impressive breaks of 47,51,74,53 and 62.

To reach his first final of the Tour Jennings topped the weekend’s group stage with a 12-1 frame scoreline then crushed Kyren Wilson 4-2 that included the events highest break a 133, Martin Ball 4-1 breaks of 64,63 and 51 lastly Clark 4-2 from 2-1 down.

Pick of Saturday’s group matches George Marter beating Kyren Wilson 3-1 opening with breaks of 95 and 108 next frame Wilson 115, Marter who won the group lost 4-3

to Martin Ball after leading 3-0.

Top eight in final rankings Stephen Craigie a maximum 1625 points setting a unbeatable record brother Sam 2nd 1166, 3rd Jennings 1043, 4th Walker 868,

5th Tom Maxfield 848, 6th Mitchell Mann 805, 7th Wilson 771 and 8th Ryan Causton 700 points.

Other group winners Sam Harvey , Maxfield, Nasir and Causton.
