JONES AGAIN RUNNER UP

Ben Harrison defeated Nathan Jones again 2-0 in the 2nd EASB Regional Tour final, Chandlers Ford SC repeating his triumph in the first event to build up a big lead at the top of the rankings with four events remaining.

Harrison who made breaks of 64,51,44 and 43 during the days play never lost a frame in the knockout stage beating Lawrence Oliver, Nick Jennings, Ryan Mears and Jones all 2-0 however he lost 2-1 in the group stage to Jordan Rimmer.

Jones never lost a match in his group going on to beat Thomas Vanstone 2-0, Kurtis Weaver 2-1 and Danny Douane also 2-1 making breaks of 69,54 and 51.

Semi finalist Mears in 3rd place topped the break list with a 78 to go with efforts of 64,59 and 53 but had to be content with 2nd place in his group behind youngster Shane Castle who reached the last eight this time losing to Douane 2-0.

Other group winners, James Sumner, Jennings, Nik Charalambous and Jason Hildyard all unbeaten and Peter Maraziotis who lost one match.

Next event Saturday 17th November – Cambridge SC – (entry’s closed).
