Newly crowned PIOS winner Jack Lisowski, Gloucester will play Leo Fenandez, London in the English Amateur Final at the EASB Finals weekend this Sunday.
Lisowski defeated Stuart Carrington, Grimsby 6-4 to win the Northern section having entered from his Sheffield address and Fernandez beat surprise Southern finalist Nathan Jones, Kings Lynn by the score.
Adam Wicheard, Trowbridge has won the English Pro Ticket Tour and EASB’s No1 nomination to World Snooker’s Main tour for next season both finalists can not overhaul Wicheard.
Stephen Craigie, Newcastle who won all six of the Premier Junior Tour events finishes 2nd and must be in contention for a WSA wild card, Fernandez can finish 3rd if he wins the final.
Carrington led 2-1 in the final, Lisowski fought back to lead 4-2 with breaks of 85,44 and 34 the 6th frame decided on pink or black according to the frame score.
Carrington won the 7th with a run of 72, Lisowski the next game with a 60, Carrington 51 for 4-5 a 41 break from the winner enough to take the 10th frame and match.
Lisowski thrashed Andrew Milliard 4-0 in the first round finishing with a 120 break next defeated James McGouran 4-2 breaks of 81,72 and 50, McGouran 64 in the first frame and finally Adam Duffy 4-3 after leading 3-1, 93 to take the opening frame.
The winner had opted out of playing in the Pro Ticket Tour in favour of progressing in the eight event PIOS which he duly won with a record points total.
Carrington opened with a 4-2 win over Shaun Wilkes who made breaks of 51 and 63, Kuldesh Johal 4-3 from 3-1down ending with a 107 break and lastly Darren Burns
4-2, Burns 63 to lead, Carrington 110 and 61.
In the first round from 3-0 down Burns with a deciding break of 74 beat Neville Whalley and from 2-1 down in the last eight overcame Michael Rhodes 4-2 ending with a 64.
To reach the bottom half quarter final Duffy defeated Robbie Williams, 90 and 50,
4-3 from 3-2 adrift and crushed Antony Parsons 4-0, 78 break.
After leading 3-0 Fernandez emerged the victor from a 5 ¼ hour marathon to defeat Nathan Jones 6-4 highest break on the clubs match table was 41.
The winner trounced Sam Harvey 4-0, Daniel Ward 4-2 after leading 3-0, Ward reducing the lead to 3-2 with breaks of 137 and 51 and finally Mitchell Mann also 4-2 from 2-1 down.
Jones reached the Southern final his best ever performance by far the hard way beating Sean Bullock 4-3 from 3-2 behind and repeated the feat to beat Ryan Causton, 81 break for 3-3 and lastly Callum Downing 4-1, 54 break.
Downing had surprisingly edged Rankings winner Wicheard 4-3 after leading 3-1 especially after the Pro Ticket champion had made breaks of 113,84,67 and 53 in his first round 4-1 victory over ex pro Hugh Abernathy.
Alfie Burden IBSF winner lost out 4-3 to Nick Jennings who in turn lost by the same score to Mann.
Former IBSF finalist Ward helped himself to breaks of 107,71 and 56 in a 4-2 win against ex English Team winner Greg Batten.
