Pro Ticket Event 1 North winner Robbie Williams, Wallasey added the Paul Hunter English Open to his seasons brilliant start beating ex pro Stephen Craigie, Newcastle 6-4 at the sponsors venue Northern SC, Leeds.
The first eight frames mostly settled on the colours were shared, Craigie led 2-0, Williams event best 137 led 3-2, Craigie 85 for 3-3, Williams the black to lead 4-3.
Again the winner potted the final ball to lead 5-4 taking the 10th frame and title 77-0.
From the last 64 Williams defeated Tom Maxfield 4-0, 95 and 67 breaks, Michael Rhodes 85 to start, 68 to finish, 2007 winner Matthew Couch 5-2, Williams 123 TC, 59, 54, Couch 60 and 54 breaks.
Then Daniel Wells highest placed amateur on PTC 5-3, Wells 90 and 91 to lead 3-2, Kuldesh Johal also 5-3, Williams 3-0 up efforts of 72 and 128 plus 79 later, Johal 62.
Craigie beat Ryan Mears 4-2, 86 and 58, Mears 56, Richard Beckham 5-2 who
made a 68 and from 4-2 Craig Steadman 5-4 followed by a 5-0, 88,88,52 drubbing of Chris Norbury who had beaten Peter Lines 5-2 in the previous round.
And finally ex pro Andrew Norman 5-2 highlight being a 50 clearance to nick 2-2 after Norman made 57.
Young Shahrukh Nasir let slip a 3-0 lead against Jamie Barrett who went on to reach the last 8 beating twice Eng Amateur Champion David Grace 5-3.
Aditya Mehta lost 4-2 agonisingly losing frames despite breaks of 60 and 57 Valiant reaching the last 16 losing to Norman 5-3.
Quarter finalist Adam Duffy beat Main Tours Jimmy Robertson 5-1 with scores of 73,68 and 81.
Nick Jennings led Johal 4 times 109 and 55 but could not the EASB PTT play of winner contributions of 92,55,65,59 and 71.
Ian Burns broke down after the 14th red 112 against Norman and lost 5-3.
Young Oliver Lines lost 5-4 to James Silverwood after beating Rileys Junior Champion Joel Walker 4-2.
