CONTENTS

1, FIVE BASIC RULES OF SNOOKER

2, YOU CAN! (MOTIVATION).

3, QUICK JOKE

4, MINI PROFILE

==================================================

1, FIVE BASIC BUT VERY IMPORTANT RULES OF SNOOKER.

If you are a beginner, here are five valuable points to keep in mind at all times:

1.Solid stance! with the right leg straight and the left leg bent. Depending on whether you are right or left handed.

2.Firm Bridge! make sure you have a strong bridge hand with a solid "V" for the cue to travel along.

3.Cue parallel to the table, and striking the cue ball in the center.

4.Smooth cue action! making sure the cue runs along the "V"backwards and forwards nice and smoothly with no jerkiness and in a straight line.

5.Keep your head down!! after playing the shot keep your head down at all times until the ball is potted, this will stop any movement of the head and body.

===================================================

2, You Can! (Motivation)

3. I just wanted to bring you some thing about motivation in our first news letter of the year, one that can help you with whatever you're cause is in 2005. If you can keep this frame of mind in life, work and snooker, i am sure it will help you succeed in what ever you want to achieve.

" There are only two ways of bringing brightness into your world; either change your attitude or open the closed doors of your brain "

This holds true in all our lives; we all deserve a good & peaceful life, full of happiness. Our struggle to lead a better life and to grow everyday, both professionally and personally is highly appreciable; time and again we face situations which are highly abstruse, stress building and killer of our enthusiasm and high morale.

There are many ways of handling such situations; but effective handling and analyzing is imperative to counteract, come to a conclusion which basically satisfies our conscience; the mirror of truth, further enhancing our self confidence and high esteem.

This will happen only when our attitude towards life is changed, our thinking process is towards a side which is extremely positive drawing our attention to things which we actually ignore, widening our focus to observe, understand and act accordingly.

As one of the interviewee answered to the query of the interviewer, the glass is half filled with water, rather than half empty, this attitude which is challenging, positive and appreciable.

Each and every one of us are capable, skilled, knowledgeable but many times we work emotionally rather than thinking practically. If anybody can bring change in your life, then it's you, you, and only you. Remember, nothing happens by chance, you have to take action.

Whenever you achieve or lose something important, ask your self.. why? How? Analyze? You will and you only can overcome the obstacles and tastes the success, which is sweet like honey, bringing lots of accolades ... your way.

All the best.

3, Quick Joke!

4. Did you hear about the snooker mad monster? He went to the doctor because he didn't feel well.

"What do you eat?" asked the doctor.

"For breakfast I have a couple of red snooker balls, and at lunchtime I grab a black, a pink and two yellows. I have a brown with my tea in the afternoon, then a blue and another pink."

"I know why you're not feeling well", said the doctor, "you're not getting enough greens!"

2004 Was the year that stephen was to be taken seriously, after winning the UK Championships at the Barbican center, York. With a resounding win in the final over David Gray by a record equaling frame score of 10 - 1, he also knocked out Ronnie O'sullivan in the second round 9 - 6. In an interview with Ronnie O'Sullivan after the match defeat, he said that Maguire could become the next player to dominate the game just like Davis and Hendry had done in the 80's and 90's, he says that maguire is the real deal and is the one to try to avoid. Maguire says that after winning the european open he wanted to prove to himself that this win wasn't just a one hit wonder and so went onto becoming runner up to John Higgins in the British Open and then winning the Uk championships with top form performances, sweeping aside any opponents in his way.

Stephen spent 4 years practicing with Stephen Hendry and the last 2 years practicing with John Higgins, Maguire is a potential future star in the making and definitely one to keep a close eye on in the next few coming years. Many of the top snooker pundits are predicting that Maguire will become number one within the next five years.
