Ronnie O’Sullivan has teamed up with leading pool and snooker operator Rileys to launch a new competition called the Future Stars of Snooker.
The competition will be open to 12-16 year-olds with regional events being held in Rileys clubs across England, Scotland and Wales. The eventual final will tak eplace in London.
Ronnie O’Sullivan has teamed up with leading pool and snooker operator Rileys to launch a new competition called the Future Stars of Snooker.
The competition will be open to 12-16 year-olds with regional events being held in Rileys clubs across England, Scotland and Wales. The eventual final will tak eplace in London.
The competition will look at all the skill sets required to become a star snooker player and will see contenders negotiate a circuit of tables each with a different skill or element of snooker. In addition to be tested on their playing ability each competitor will also be marked on poise, temperament and ’star-quality’.
Maurice Kelly, CEO of Rileys told World Snooker, “One of the reasons for signing Ronnie O’Sullivan as our Snooker Ambassador was because he impressed us with his determination to put something back into the game. Rileys are only too pleased to help make this search for a new ‘Rocket’ Ronnie a reality.”
The overall winner of the competition will be selected by O’Sullivan and as well as mentoring fro the three-time World Champion they will also receive a package worth £5000 to aid them in their snooker development.
