Summary
FIVE-time champion Alex Dunkley won a first £1,000 Under-21 Roll-Up tournament of the series on a day when a record SEVEN players recorded half-century breaks.
Dunkley fired in breaks of 59 and 57 in a 3-1 final victory over Nick Jennings at Chandler’s Ford Snooker Club. Earlier, he chalked up an 85 in a 3-2 quarter-final match against Sarisbury Social team-mate Mike Finn.
Contributions by Scott McGaw (69), Jennings (74 and 54), Finn (68 and 68), Billy Castle (65), Peter Maraziotis (60) and Daniel Woods (53) completed a record-breaking haul.

In fact, Woods’ 53 was his first competitive half-century. The 16-year-old, whose home club is the Eastleigh Academy, beat his previous best of 48 in a 3-0 win against Fair Oak’s Dan Hildyard in the Plate. And the Hedge End lad went on to beat Maraziotis 2-0 in the final.
Tournament organiser and World Snooker coach Tim Dunkley said: “A first 50 is a major landmark in any player’s career. But to achieve it against a player of Dan Hildyard’s class shows how much he has improved in his first season in the Roll-Up. Daniel’s a smashing lad with an excellent temperament. I know his mum Lynette and dad Steve are thrilled to bits." Woods moved up to fourth in the rankings with one week to play.
Eastleigh’s Will Baird climbed to 20th after a fine run to the semis. The 17-year-old beat Ollie Tydeman 3-2 in the last-eight before losing 3-1 to Jennings. Castle, 14, has already claimed the £200 top spot.
One point separates Arron McIntyre and Jason Hildyard in the chase for second place, worth £150, with third having to settle for £100. Most of the other 12 money places will be decided on the final day.
