DEFENDING champion Michael Leslie is back in contention for an international call-up after winning a first Scottish Under-16 ranking tournament this season.

Leslie knocked in seven 40-plus breaks as he climbed to third place with victory in event seven at Rileys in Dunfermline.

 

The 15-year-old, whose dad Mike owns Bonnyrigg Snooker Club in Midlothian, won five of the eight finals last term.

 

Ross Higgins has taken over top spot from Eden Sharav.

LAST 32: Corey Blyth (Perth) bt Michael Lawson (Glasgow) 4-0.

 

LAST 16: Ross Higgins (Cumbernauld) bt Blyth 3-0, Ross McLean (Dunfermline) bt John Coyle (Glasgow) 3-2, Eden Sharav (Alloa) bt Campbell Dunlop (Kilmarnock) 3-0, Axle Menlove (Dumfries) w/o Shaun McDermott (Bo’ness), Michael Leslie (Bonnyrigg) bt Rhys Clark (Stonehouse) 3-1, Grant Polley (Alloa) bt Ryan Buchan (Portlethen) 3-2, Ross Muir (Musselburgh) bt Brian Gallagher (Glasgow) 3-0, Dylan Craig (Glasgow) bt James Young (Bellshill) 3-2.

FINAL: Leslie bt Menlove 4-1.
